CVU will still be able to paint AT&T boxes.
See permit requirement that will make Public Works in charge of the utility Art Box project. This was passed by the council in summer of 2020 (during shutdown) and CVU was never notified of any meeting. They are just now implementing this permit. We became aware from one of the council staff about this new change one week ago. Since 2010 CVU has run a very successful Art Box Project. 4 other parishes CVU has created boxes in have given us Cooperative Endeavor Agreements with CVU paying no fees or requiring permits. This is the second time the Public Works has tried to take over the CVU art box project. Read Jarvis DeBerry here.
Why does the city want a bureaucracy put in charge?
just to commercialize and make money for DPW? Who is behind this extreme act? They can barely manage street repair, drainage, street lights etc. Please help CVU to continue this valuable project.

Please email your council member and mayor at these emails to help stop the Hi-Jack sign the petition

Did you know that boxes that are art enhanced do not get graffiti enhanced & help eliminate litter? CVU's Metro New Orleans Street Gallery project restores neighborhoods & creates economic development for local artists.
